This was inspired by stories of US covert operators during the Vietnam war taking captured RPD machine guns and chopping down their barrels. Essentially turning them into high caliber jungle Tommy guns, which also tricks the enemy into thinking the gunfire is coming from their guys.
TLDR:
Cool bit of war history, and I also just wanted to draw a smol RPD machine gun.
